Unitus Community Credit Union announces support for CUNA’s nationwide “Open Your Eyes” campaign highlighting the people-oriented benefits of CUs

Unitus has officially joined the nationwide awareness initiative aiming to elevate credit unions in the collective consumer consciousness.

CUNA, the Credit Union National Association, has developed the integrated marketing initiative in conjunction with credit unions across America.

Improving our communities

“Investing in the credit union industry not only rewards our members and communities, it promises to improve the financial health of our nation” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President and CEO. “As CUs around the country recently showed in jumping to give members extra help during the government shutdown, our movement at its core is simply ‘people helping people.’

“Those aren’t the only benefits of increasing credit union awareness,” continued Stapp. “When we build the movement here at home, we show communities around the world how to build a successful financial system whose main goal is helping people. In less fortunate nations, this example can help reduce widespread poverty and enfranchise peoples who have been unable to save money or participate in the economy. We’re empowering people around the world to truly understand why credit unions are the best option in financial services and what it means to be a credit union member.”
