Unitus Community Credit Union Promotes Karen Salman, Welcomes Blaine Bartholomew as Assistant Vice Presidents

PORTLAND, Ore., August 1 — Unitus Community Credit Union, a Portland-based financial institution with more than 88,000 members and $1 billion in assets, today announced that Karen Salman has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Operations Support, and Blaine Bartholomew has been hired as Assistant Vice President of Member Experience.

As Assistant Vice President of Operations Support, Salman provides direction and oversight of management across multiple functional areas, including multi-channel transactional processing, operations support of frontline departments, writing and monitoring procedures, and Bank Secrecy Act compliance.

She has nearly 30 years of financial services experience in a range of areas including retail branch banking and Operations Support.

Blaine Bartholomew

As Assistant Vice President of Member Experience, Bartholomew seeks to ensure that Unitus continues their legacy of legendary service and loyalty to membership.

He works to improve the member experience through evaluation and implementation of multichannel member feedback, process and system improvements, and creation of unique product solutions.

Bartholomew will bring insights culled from an Honors degree from Pacific Coast Banking School and more than a decade of experience in retail banking across various roles at Umpqua Bank.
