On October 14, our credit union was honored with Portland Business Journal’s 2020 Corporate Philanthropy Award.

What is the award?

This award recognizes local companies for providing exceptional community service to the greater Portland community. We are excited to announce that we placed #5 in the Large Company category. This is the 10th consecutive year Unitus has earned this honor.

Why did we win?

Last year, Unitus gifted more than $250,000 to charitable nonprofit organizations based in Oregon and Southwest Washington. What’s more, our employees volunteered more than 3,230 hours with more than 130 local organizations and nonprofits.

“Removing barriers in our communities and inspiring hope is the purpose of our work every day,” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President/CEO. “I’ve seen firsthand how the Credit Union Movement has enabled individuals and families to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. That’s what we strive for at Unitus.”

We could not have done this without our members and our staff. It is a great honor to share this recognition with you.
