Celebrate Diversity: You Us Unitus

(1 minute read) — Every month is the right month to celebrate our LGBTQ+ members, staff, neighbors, and community partners. June is a month to elevate that celebration and ensure Unitus’ commitment to everyone—regardless of their sexual and gender identity, race, or creed—is both strong and sound.

That’s why inclusion—like making sure everyone has access to a financial advocate invested in their financial well-being—is one of our credit union guiding principles, one that affects our day-to-day work as well as our products and services.

It’s also why we’re proud to share that we’re partnering with Pride Northwest and KOIN 6 to support this year’s 2021 Pride Festival activities and events. Due to gathering restrictions, this year’s parade will be virtual but that won’t stop the fun! Tune in on Sunday, June 27 at 4pm on KOIN or at 7pm on the CW to catch the broadcast, which will include pre-recorded local performances and short interviews from local artists and organizations.

You can also join Pride Northwest for a community viewing party on their YouTube channel as well as Zoom prior to the virtual parade broadcast on June 20. However you get involved, we encourage you to celebrate Pride with the joy and uplift it deserves!

In addition to the many activities Pride Northwest is hosting—like the two-day Pride Pics film festival at Zidell Yards or the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus concert Chasing Rainbows—we also encourage those that are able to support Pride Northwest’s incredible programming with a one-time or monthly donation.
