100 Million Dollar Baby: Unitus’ Go Savings Notches $100 Million in Deposits, 5,000 Accounts

Portland, Ore., September 13, 2018 – Savvy individuals across the northwest have been flocking to open a Go Savings account, taking advantage of the product’s unique blend of high returns combined with financial liquidity. Since its June launch, Unitus has opened more than 5,000 accounts, vaulting total Go Savings deposits past $100 million.
“When you work hard to provide value, everyone wins,” said Steve Stapp, President & CEO of Unitus. “Go Savings gives all of our members a great way to grow their money. It’s helpful for those of us who need liquid funds to pay for regular expenses, and can’t wait a few years for a certificate of deposit to mature. It’s equally helpful for those of us who have already established a financial bedrock, but want to buffer our retirement savings. Our members are growing fast, and we wanted to provide them another tool to help them hit their goals and live the lives they envision for themselves and their families.”
Go Savings provides returns far above the national average savings rate (0.08% per the FDIC / 0.14% among credit unions, per the NCUA). The high-yield account came open to the public on June 11, 2018. In fewer than three months since, the product has contributed to strong growth in Unitus membership and deposits.
“We’re excited that so many of our members have caught on to the short- and long-term benefits Go Savings can provide,” said Brian Alfano, Chief Retail Officer of Unitus. “The account was created to be unlike anything else available today, giving the best rates on the lowest balances, in order to help our members meet or exceed their financial goals. There’s no sure thing in finance, but a guaranteed high-yield savings account can provide a strong foundation for financial independence.”
